The park’s unique artifacts, irreplicable landscapes and exceptional trails.

Lillian Sandburg’s goat herd and Connemara Farms
Bygone gardens and panoramas
Historic buildings.

A legacy gift to the Friends of Carl Sandburg is a meaningful expression of your commitment to supporting our local national treasure. By making a legacy gift, you can create a strong future for the Friends of Carl Sandburg and the continuation of our dedication to preserving a national treasure for our children and generations to come. The current tax laws provide tremendous incentives for generous giving opportunities. Whatever your specific situation may be, Friends of Carl Sandburg, in cooperation with the Community Foundation of Henderson County, offers a number of options for both legacy and year-end giving. Volunteer

We are always looking for people who want to use their talents and time to help. Some of the different ways to volunteer are:

Participate on a committee or work at an event held by the Friends of Carl Sandburg.
Serve as a member of the Board of Directors, Friends of Carl Sandburg at Connemara, Inc.
Contact the Park Volunteer Coordinator at 828-693-4178 to learn more about volunteering in the park.

Books for Good

If you are a fan of Carl Sandburg, no doubt you enjoy reading, and here’s two ways you can help to support the Friends of Carl Sandburg! Books for Good, located in Fletcher, N.C., will accept your donations of used books to sell in their store. When dropping off your books, please tell them that you would like proceeds to benefit the Friends of Carl Sandburg. Or, if you are in the market for books, head to Books for Good and Friends of Carl Sandburg will receive a percentage of the cost of your purchase. Honor and Celebrate

Have a friend who has done something special or is just special themself? Are you going to celebrate a birthday, a holiday, a graduation? Any occasion is a great time to send a gift to the Friends. We’ll send a card to the honoree sharing your kind gift (dollar amount not included). A tax receipt will be sent to you. Please note that cards sent to the honoree may take up to 10 business days to process, so please plan ahead for time-sensitive gifts. Click here to learn more.

Remember a Loved One

A memorial gift to the Friends is a thoughtful and lasting tribute to a friend or loved one who perhaps admired Carl Sandburg or enjoyed visiting Connemara.
